Total area of teaching hospital is 3969 sq.metres.The number of beds is 150, distributed to 6 departments. Hospital has different categories in Inpatient departments from General ward to VIP suites, Panchakarma theatres, Minor and Major OT, Physiotherapy unit, Hitahara unit and an in-house Kitchen. The hospital has 9 Out patient departments which purvey you the traditional, classical Ayurveda treatments to maintain the physical, mental and spiritual health. It has a fully equipped lab with the capacity to make all varieties of pathological investigations. There is also a Casualty Section, a labor room, and a Panchakarma Clinic where all types of  Panchakarma treatments are performed.  

  • Resident medical officer (RMO)  
    Round the clock medical care is rendered under trained doctors and resident interns to monitor and supervise proper and timely delivery of medical services.  
  • Physio-therapy Unit 
    Our hospital has a separate physiotherapy unit where the patients can avail Physiotherapy services under trained Physiotherapist and benefit the services of Physiotherapy equipment along with the prescribed Ayurveda treatments. This Unit delivers customized rehabilitative and pain management techniques under skilled supervision.   
    Physiotherapy  means a branch of modern medical science, which includes examination, assessment, interpretation, physical diagnosis, planning and execution of treatment and advice to any person for the purpose of preventing correcting, alleviating and limiting dysfunction, acute and chronic bodily malfunction including life saving measures via chest physiotherapy in the intensive care unit, curing physical disorders or disability promoting physical fitness, facilitating healing and pain relief and treatment of physical and psychosomatic disorders through modulating physiological and physical gent activities and devices using exercises, mobilization, therapeutic, ultrasound, electrical and thermal agents and electrotherapy for diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

 to treat sprains, back pain, arthritis, strains, incontinence, bursitis, postural problems, sports and workplace injuries, reduced mobility. Rehabilitation following surgery is also included in this category. 

  • NEUROLOGICAL

This is used to treat disorders of nervous system including stroke, spinal cord injuries, acquired brain injuries, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s. It can also be used for rehabilitation following brain surgeries.  

  • CARDIOTHORACIC

Treatment used for asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema and other cardiorespiratory disorders.  

 

Yoga  

The word “yoga” comes from a Sanskrit root “yuj” which means union, or yoke, to join, and to direct and concentrate one’s    attention. Yoga is popularly understood to be a program of physical exercises (asana) and breathing exercises (pranayama).   
Regular practice of yoga promotes strength, endurance and flexibility. It facilitates greater self-control, while cultivating a sense of calmness and well-being. Numerous studies have shown yoga to have an immediate down-regulating effect on both the HPA axis responses to stress. Effectiveness of yoga against stress management is well established.   

It was also found that brief yoga-based relaxation training normalizes the function of the autonomic nervous. Yoga significantly decreases heart rate and systolic and diastolic blood pressures. Several literature reviews have been conducted that examined the impact of yoga on specific health conditions including cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, woman’s health, cancer, anxiety. Yoga may help children and young people cope with stress and promote mental health. Also, it enhances their memory and concentration. 
Understanding the significance of Yoga in the present era, Amrita Ayurveda Hospital gives utmost importance to impart yoga to patients. Under the department of Swasthavritta, it is indeed a well-functioning system. We offer individualized Yoga and Pranayama sessions for Outpatient and Inpatient.   Yoga camps are also organized for public to sensitive them regarding the importance of practicing yoga for promoting health. Since January 2020, yoga classes are being taken for IP patients every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Spacious wards/ ROOM

All rooms are spacious and comfortable, with private bathroom and television facilities.   Our Patients can choose from AC suites, Non AC private rooms and Semi-private rooms apart from the separate general wards for men and women.  24hrs water supply is available in bathroom. Laundry service, telephone (STD/ISD), Fax and e-mail services are available. Electricity is backed up by generator round the clock. Bed sheet and bed spreads are changed once in 2 days unless instructed by the attending doctor. Male and female wards are arranged which serves in-house food and reasonable accomodation to the patients.

  • Private AC Rooms – spacious well-furnished Air-conditioned rooms are available with 2 beds and an attached bathroom, a television, telephone and WIFI facility.    
  • Private Non AC Rooms – Room with 2 beds, attached bathroom, a television, telephone & Wifi facilities are available.   
  • Semi-Private Rooms – Room with 2 beds, common bathroom, common television & telephone are available.  
  • Male and Female Wards -Spacious male ward with common toilet, telephone & television,Spacious female ward with common toilet, telephone & television.
