Pada Swedanam

it is a treatment procedure mostly secondary to pada-abhyanga. Any type of hot fomentation with the help pf steam or some other source of heat is applied to the feets/sole of the patients. It helps improve Circulation, Stress Reduction, improve the eye sight, helps in insomnia etc.

PTKB

Panchatikta ksheer basti, it is a type of medicated enema where medicated milk along with other necessary medications is administered by the means of enema. It helps in regulating bowel movements, detoxification,joint health like osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and skin health upto some extent.

Niruha vasti 

It is the administration of enema that includes decoction, medicated oil, honey, rocksalt  and  herbal powder.  This type of basti is expected to retain within the body for about 48 mins or less, but not more than that. It helps in Detoxification, Improve Digestion, Pain Relief, Nourishment, Menstrual Health, Support for Reproductive Health. It is one of the important and widely practiced panchakarmas. 

RCPS

It is a treatment procedure that combines dry herbal powder (choorna) and a form of sweating therapy to promote detoxification and relieve various ailments. It benefits in Pain Relief, muscle relaxation, liquification of stagnant doshas in the joints etc.

Rooksha Dhanyamla Dhara

This therapy utilizes a specific herbal liquid known as “Dhanyamla,” which is typically made from fermented grains, to promote healing and rejuvenation. This Dhanyamla is poured from a certain height on the body for desired action to take place. It benefits by Anti-Inflammatory action, removes excess and unhealthy sweat, helps in joint health and over all inflammation in the body. No oleation is done before Rooksha type of DD.

Snighada Dhanyamla Dhara

The procedure is similar to that of rooksha DD. Here, before pouring of the Dhanyamla oleation of the body is done. It helps in nourishment, moisturization, pain relief, detoxification, improve blood circulation and help relieve muscle stress and help relaxation.

Rooksha Takra Dhara

In this therapy medicated butter milk is poured over the body without prior oleation, For its nourishing and unctuous properties. It is done in skin diseases, inflammatory conditions, for detoxification and balancing of doshas.

Snighada Takra Dhara

This therapy is done secondary to oleation of the body. After this oleation the medicated buttermilk is poured over the body for about 45 minutes. It benefits mainly by nourishing and hydration the skin, it helps reduce the underneath inflammation, normalise digestive system etc.

Sarvangha Abhyanga Nadi Sweda

It is an Ayurvedic therapy that combines full-body oil massage with a specific type of steam treatment. This is done prior to any major panchakarma treatment. It benefits in deep relaxation, improves circulation, liquefies deep seated doshas, reduces whole body inflammation etc.

Stanika Patra Pinda Sweda

Different medicinal leaves are fried in medicated oil and all these are tied together in a pottali. This pottali is then used for fomentation on re-heating for at least 45 minutes. It benefits the patient by relaxing the muscles strain, eases the movements, relieves pain in joints etc.

Sthanika SSPS

Shalishashti a type of rice is cooked with the medicated decoction and milk, this type of finely cooked rice is then tied up in potalli and used for fomentation over the body. This helps in nourishment of joints, relaxation of ligaments, regeneration of bones etc.

Uttara Vasti

Medicated oil or decoction is administered into the urinary bladder and/or uterus in different conditions and diseases. It helps in strengthening the organs ofurinarry and reproductive system, helps in infertility, in menstrual irregularities and pelvic pain and Alleviates discomfort related to these systems

Picha Basti

It is a type of edema in which medicated oil/kashayam is given by the means of enema. It mainly focuses on diarrhoea, bleeding from anal region, fissue-in ano,fistula-in-ano. This is taken for 8 days. It provides strength to the muscles and whole of the organ.

Choorna Pinda Sweda

It is a type of pottali treatment in which in accordance to the disease a patient is suffering from, the choorna inside the pottali will change. This pottali is tapped on the patients affected parts or whole body with gentle pressure. It helps in easy movements of the joint, reduces inflammation, provide strength to all the joints.

Dhanya Amla Kizhi [ Kaadi kizhi]

Medicinal choorna pottali is prepared and applied after heating in slightly hot Dhanyalma liquid. It benefits by Anti-Inflammatory action, relieve muscle stress, helps enhance the movements of the joints, help relax the joints etc.

Yoga vasti

In this therapy the enema of decoction and taila is given alternatively following the rules. This helps overcome the side effects of administration of any one kind of enema. It benefits in Nourishing and revitalizing the tissues and organs it works as gentle cleansing, reduce stress and promote relaxation.

Agni Lepam

External treatment where a herbal paste (Lepam) is applied to the body, typically producing a heating effect

Uses:-

  • used to reduce muscle stiffness and joint pain in conditions like arthritis and spondylitis
  • is beneficial in reducing localized swelling or edema

Anuvasana Basti

is a type of enema as part of the Panchakarma therapy where the medicated oils are administered into the rectum

Uses:-

  • Helps alleviate Vata-related disorders such as dryness, stiffness, and constipation.
  • It nourishes and strengthens the muscles and tissues, improving vitality and overall physical strength.

Kshara Vaitarana Vasti

Kshara Vaitarana Basti is a specialized type of enema (Basti) treatment in Ayurveda where The name “Kshara” refers to alkali or herbal caustics, and “Vaitarana” suggests something that helps in crossing over suffering

Uses:-

  • It has scraping (Lekhana) properties, making it useful in reducing fat accumulation and addressing metabolic disorders like obesity.
  • it is used in the management of conditions like gout, where there is an accumulation of toxins in the joints and blood due to its detoxifying properties.

Ksheera Vaitarana Vasti

is a type of Asthapana Basti (decoction-based enema)a enema therapy that combines the benefits of Basti (therapeutic enema) with a specific medicated milk preparation.

Uses:-

  • It helps in managing joint pains, stiffness, and neurological issues by pacifying aggravated Vata.
  • Helps alleviate nerve pain caused by sciatica and is effective in relieving pain, inflammation, and stiffness in conditions like Sandhivata (osteoarthritis) and Amavata (rheumatoid arthritis).

Ksheera Basti

the medicated enema which is prepared with milk and is administered .

Uses:-

  • it helps manage conditions like osteoarthritis (Sandhivata) and rheumatoid arthritis (Amavata)
  • it helps in Conditions like sciatica (Gridhrasi), muscle weakness, and paralysis

kshara Basti

is an enema therapy that uses a special medicated alkaline substance called Kshara (an alkaline ash preparation made from herbs) as part of the enema solution.

Uses:-

  • helps in Vata disorders like sciatica and back pain
  • It can help in conditions like urinary calculi (stones) or difficulty in urination

Madhuthilika Basti

is a type of Niruha Basti that is primarily composed of Madhu (honey) and Taila (oil)

Uses:-

  • It is especially effective in treating diseases caused by aggravated Vata, such as joint pains, muscle spasms, and stiffness.
  • Beneficial for conditions like paralysis, sciatica, and neuralgia

Mustadiyapana Basti

is a type of enema therapy that falls under the category of Yapana Basti where yapana bastis are pecialized form of Basti (medicated enema) known for their nourishing, rejuvenating, and balancing effects, particularly aimed at improving longevity and overall vitality

Uses:-

  • Helpful in managing symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and gout ,parkinsonism
  • it is often used to treat infertility

Lekhana Basti

is a type of therapeutic enema used in Ayurveda, primarily aimed at promoting weight loss and reducing excess fat in the body.

Uses:-

  • Effective for conditions related to obesity and metabolic syndrome.
  • Aids in reducing excess body fat.

Matra Basti

the administration of a small quantity of medicated oil or ghee into the rectum.

Uses:-

  • helps in nourishing and strengthening bones (Asthi), muscles (Mamsa), and nervous tissue (Majja).

Bashpa Sweda

It is also known as steam therapy, where the body is exposed to herbal steam to induce sweating

Uses:-

  • By opening the skin pores and encouraging perspiration, Bashpa Sweda improves the complexion, removes toxins, and rejuvenates the skin, making it look clearer and more radiant.
  • it helps in alleviating conditions like back pain, joint pain, and muscle spasms.

Karpasa Pinda Swedam

The treatment involves the use of boluses (pinda) made of cotton seeds (Karpasa) and other medicinal herbs, which are dipped in warm medicated oils and massaged over the body to induce sweating.

Uses:-

  • It is highly effective in treating neuromuscular disorders like paralysis (Pakshaghata), hemiplegia, and muscle weakness
  • is beneficial in conditions like osteoarthritis (Sandhivata), rheumatoid arthritis (Amavata), and other joint-related disorders.

Anda Pinda Sweda

a bolus made from cooked eggs, herbs, and medicated oils is used to massage and induce sweating on affected areas of the body

Uses:-

  • is beneficial for conditions like osteoarthritis (Sandhivata) and rheumatoid arthritis (Amavata), where joint pain, inflammation, and stiffness are prominent.
  • is useful in conditions like paralysis, hemiplegia, and muscular dystrophy

Mamsa Kizhi

involves using a bolus of medicated meat (Mamsa) along with other herbal ingredients to perform a specialized massage therapy.

Uses:-

  • This therapy is ideal for individuals suffering from conditions like Muscular Dystrophy, Myopathy, or general muscle wasting due to malnutrition or chronic illness.
  • Mamsa Kizhi helps in treating neurological disorders like Hemiplegia (paralysis on one side of the body), Paraplegia (paralysis of the legs), Multiple Sclerosis, and other conditions where muscle strength and nerve function are compromised.

Janu Dhara

is a procedure in which a continuous stream of warm medicated oil or herbal decoction is poured over the knees (known as Janu Sandhi) for a specific duration

Uses:-

  • is highly effective in managing knee osteoarthritis where it helps in relieving pain, reducing stiffness, and improving joint flexibility.
  • It helps in alleviating the inflammation, pain, and swelling associated with rheumatoid arthritis

Kashaya Dhara

is an external therapy involving the rhythmic pouring of warm herbal decoctions (kashaya) over specific parts of the body or the entire body.

Uses:-

  • helps in relieving pain, inflammation, and stiffness in conditions like Amavata (rheumatoid arthritis) and Sandhivata (osteoarthritis).
  • It is effective in treating chronic back pain, cervical spondylosis, and lumbar spondylosis by reducing muscle tension and inflammation.

Ksheera Dhara

is a soothing Ayurvedic therapy where a continuous stream of warm medicated milk (Ksheera) is poured over specific parts of the body or the forehead. It is a form of Shirodhara, but instead of herbal oils, medicated milk is used.

  • Ksheera Dhara has a deeply calming effect on the nervous system, making it beneficial for individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues

Kati Pichu

The treatment involves placing a medicated cloth or cotton pad soaked in warm herbal oil over the affected area for a specific duration.

  • Reduces muscle spasms, tightness, and stiffness in the lower back and pelvic region.

Greeva Basti

It involves the application of a warm, medicated oil in a circular reservoir made of a dough-like substance (often made from wheat flour) that is placed around the cervical spine.

Uses:-

  • Helps relieve pain and stiffness associated with degenerative changes in the cervical spine.
  • Aids in reducing symptoms related to nerve compression, such as numbness or tingling in the arms.

Lepam(Cervical)

Lepam (or Lepa) refers to a paste made from medicinal herbs that is applied externally to the skin.

Cervical Lepam specifically targets the cervical region (the neck area) and is often used in Ayurvedic treatments for various ailments related to this part of the body.

Uses:-

  • Helps relieve pain, stiffness, and inflammation associated with degenerative changes in the cervical spine.
  • Provides relief from muscle pain and discomfort due to overexertion or injury.

Lepam Low Back
